Developer gets 12-year tax break to finish Muskegon high-rise project

Quote:
MUSKEGON, MI – The commercial side of downtown Muskegon’s high-rise apartment building, Highpoint Flats, is nearly complete and has received a 12-year tax abatement to help the developer finish the project.

Highpoint Flats, owned by local entrepreneur Jon Rooks, opened its doors to residential tenants in spring 2018. The bottom two floors of the building at the corner of West Western Avenue and First Street are reserved for retail shops and soon will be occupied by a grocery store, a credit union, an insurance broker and two office spaces.
