I remember reading that Taipei MRT Blue line and THSR share the same tunnel to/from Nangang spur that connects their respectively main tunnels. Does anyone know how they manage the signaling and direction of travel issue since the two systems run in opposite direction?

I have been curious about this but I have not been able to google my way to an answer. Taiwan is fascinating place for railroad fans because of all the mixed gauges, systems, and direction of travel. As far as I know, it is the only country where the mainline and local metros run in opposite directions on a system-wide scale.
