Blaming AOC for the demise of a large scale development in NYC is like blaming a cough when it's the flu that's actually killing me. Her losing her seat would not matter one iota to the prospects for this development, others, or rezones in general.

How the city approaches land use and development decisions has been fundamentally broken for a good while. This is just another example. The run at rezoning SoHo is anther disaster in progress where a bunch of loud rich assholes will kill that because they think their pocket of the city should never (ever) change and want to keep everybody but themselves out.
