It was due to Antonio Villairaigosa. Find the right mayor who's willing to invest in cities and not use the same old talking points. When Antonio ran for Mayor, he told the poeple we need to get a subway to the Westside. Early magazines in 2005 when he ran for Mayor called him "The Subway Mayor". This guy deserves to be the next Federal Transportation Chief (i.e. Ray LaHood's position).
