Here is USBank Stadium (the most recent "urban" stadium in the NFL) overlaid on The 78. See there is plenty of room for the stadium, DPI, and some kind of development area for stadium village and parking facilities. There is also the CMK/Cacciatore parcel north of Roosevelt along the river for additional development if needed. The USBank stadium footprint would overlap the new Wells St but I think you could tighten it up a bit to make it work. The stadium would have to overlap the Metra tracks but I don't think that's a dealbreaker, Target Field does that (also in Minneapolis).

Note that this location would be about 1/4 mile walk from Roosevelt CTA station to the stadium gate. Compare that to Soldier Field which ends up being about 1 mile walk due to the roundabout pedestrian path thru Museum Campus. I might be warming up to this idea... although it certainly means Dearborn Park will become even more of a gated community to keep the drunken sports fans out.

It seems like a lot of these new stadiums have a setback on all sides, I guess for terrorism concerns? That complicates a lot of these urban sites.
