When taken in consideration of the MidTown East rezoning concept, IMO this would be a definite yes.

As far as something that gives NY love to and leaves its mark on the NY skyline, I would go many more years than that. There have been a lot of better designed buildings, but none so far that have captured the essence of the NY skyline, meaning build above and beyond your neighbors to the point they seem insignificant in comparison, with a crown that at least seems unchallenged. I mean, how do you build so tall so close to the classic Chrysler, and in direct competition with the ESB? This is how you do it. Towers like 30 Hudson and BofA don't quite do it. We have at least a few years to enjoy it as is before other nearby towers start crashing the party.
