A few things that make it better than the local legend Lagrange: better massing, better floorplans, better proportions, better ground floor, no tacked on balconies, no mansard roof, no cartoonish details.
It won't kill the area to have one less blue glass box. Meanwhile Lagrange has at least a handful of projects in the Chicago area in the cooker. Clearly there's a market, even for that.
