I think the choice of the Bronx has a lot to do with the team's affiliation with the Yankees. But either location would be fine.
I do think that there should have been a larger conversation about putting this stadium on the parking lot west of Citifield (the so called park), and using the Willets Point site to build more housing.
It would have taken a lot to make that happen, but they could have had the discussion, as they are now having about a potential casino on that site.
