I don't want to get too political but the police here are more interested in their pronouns than doing their job
Any murders are intolerable, and whilst Liverpool has been in the national news because of the unfortunate shooting of a minor, the actual homicide rate trend in England & Wales has been declining from a high of 1.79 per 100,000 in 2003 to 0.99 per 100,000 in 2021.

That is very low especially by American standards, but it still has a way to go. Part of the solution is to adequately fund the judicial system (as the barrister strikes demonstrate), ensure that police officer numbers expand in line with a growing population (they’ve been going down since the financial crisis), and legislation is changed for petty crime and drugs are decriminalised. ‘pronouns’ are not the issue.
