Modern healthcare architecture is a relatively new profession (1950's), but it really comes down to project budgets, timelines and client personalities. Tight urban sites and lack of masterplans drive short-sighted decision-making. Henry Ford made a nod to their historic buildings with their new cancer center. Time will tell what future expansions look like. They do have a site masterplan
