But that's exactly it... there IS a Marriott/SPG affiliated hotel next to the RBCCC now. buzzg said it was too expensive for his former company, but the idea that a company with a Marriott/SPG deal (whose rooms tend to run at above average prices) would find the $150 or so a night at the Delta too expensive for their patronage is hard to believe.
Anyway, the point is that there is a downtown/TNS/RBCCC option for the companies locked into Marriott/SPG deals. Having the Sutton Place become a Westin or Marriott or whatever else wouldn't have fundamentally changed anything in that regard.
