I think the tower is a great idea, for the project, for the City and for Chinatown. Maybe there would be some way to set aside some number of the units for people who presently live or work in Chinatown.
Not that that would make any difference to what that community thinks---actually feels about this proposal, but it's one more step in the right direction.

If a tower ends up getting built there, I think it could jump start more of the same near east Market St. And the more people who live in that area the better for the street life.

Here's hoping that our fair city doesn't shoot itself in the foot again. As others have said, what other city wouldn't be rolling out the red carpet if something like this was offered, and more or less with no gov't funding involved.
