I'm sure this is known, but it's quite amazing to look at this area in person or on Pictometry (a cooler Google Maps). The entire area from Spring Garden to Fairmount, 4th to 6th has transformed in the past 15 years. And not all, but many of the new structures are good looking buildings.

And that area doesn't include the the future large development from Spring Garden to Fairmount, 6th to 7th (current Fairmount Manor site).

I remember traveling in this area pre-2010 to visit friends in Fishtown and it's truly night and day (in a good way). Great to see all the gaps between Old City and Northern Liberties disappearing, doesn't seem far off when we will have a seamless transition between the two areas, minus the dumb highways.

If only there were more street trees with these buildings, some include them, but most don't.
