It's nice to scroll through these photos at this time of year and be reminded that Canada is warm and comfortable for a few months per year!
Kingston has a surprising lack of beaches despite being on Lake Ontario, but it seems to be due to the amount of limestone in the region. As far as I know, there's only one sandy beach within city limits, and that is at Grass Creek Park, about halfway between downtown and Gananoque. Other "beaches" are very rocky and while some people will go swimming there, but it's not my cup of tea. One good sandy beach close by is on Wolfe Island.
