I voted for Carter in 1976 based on his BS about changing government - sunset legislation, zero-based budgeting, etc. I see Obama as another Carter, and I'm not making the same mistake twice. When Carter's term was over the US was suffering from stagflation and high misery index, and his fine words, prepared by a fine speechwriter, were all for nothing. This time, I say let the old man handle it. If we're in a socioeconomic decline, at least I'll feel better about it. By the way, The Byrd is 19 years older than McCain, who is 71. There are 6 members of the Senate who are over 80. Ted Kennedy is 76. So age means nothing when you are entitled to the best medical treatment in the world.
