The existing employee garage is at the end of its life. It will potentially be demo'd for a new inpatient bed tower - Henry Ford is out of room and needs to begin replacing services that are in its historic buildings facing Grand Blvd. In the long-term outpatient services move south of Grand Blvd and inpatient stays north. Presumably the original historic structures will not serve Inpatient + Treatment/Diagnostic functions as those will be incorporated into newer structure(s). This new parking deck is likely an enabling project for future expansion.
