Well, since Park Row is at an angle relative to the rest of the grid around it, I'm pondering why they didn't make the base of the tower parallel to the street and do to the tower portion something similar to 1250 Broadway.
(I couldn't find a pic to illustrate)
20 Exchange Place further Downtown kinda does this, too; but perhaps more so by necessity.
It would make for better alignment with the surrounding high-rises.
