The Public Building has long been one of my Calgary favourites, despite its sort of awkward proportions. According to Trevor Boddy in his book Modern Architecture in Alberta, a British theatre consultants report from 1979 disagreed and derided it as being as "another third rate example of colonial architecture" which is kind of hilariously mean.
