New 56-unit building headed for 1103 DeKalb in Bed-Stuy

Located on the corner of DeKalb and Malcolm X Boulevard, the mixed-use project would have about 5,905 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and 35,005 square feet of residential space, according to permits filed yesterday. That translates to roughly 625 square feet per apartment.
The building, rising 80 feet, will have bike storage and balconies on the top floors, according to the Schedule A filing.
The developer, Great Neck-based ABCNY, acquired two adjacent lots at the site for $825,000 in March. One lot is vacant, while the other is home to an auto shop. Demolition permits were filed for the existing one-story structure at 1103 DeKalb in July 2013.
