Fortis Property Group’s1 Seaport is rising as the first large all-glass residential building along the East River waterfront at 161 Maiden Lane. As CityRealty reported in July, the FiDi building was wrapping up foundation work, and it has now begun its 670-foot climb into the downtown skyline. Upon expected completion in 2018, the building will comprise 170,000 square feet, featuring 80 condominiums across 60 floors. Designed by Goldstein, Hill & West, the slender, sheer tower has been dubbed “a modern lighthouse” with its clear and unrivaled exposures on three sides.
