Unfortunately, you have to submit a request and wait.
I don't support anyone being able to make an account and edit info. I'm warmer to an editor having to approve changes made by a "visitor" before they go public. It's not enjoyable adding these requests. Still, I don't think editors rubber stamping changes would be good for accuracy.
