AAI to construct cargo complex at Trivandrum airport
New Delhi, India, May 17, 2007 - The Airports Authority of India (AAI) plans to construct a cargo terminal facility adjacent to the Terminal Building at the Trivandrum Airport. This information was given by Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation in the Parliament today.
Presently, air cargo at the Trivandrum Airport is being managed by the Kerala State Industrial Enterprise (KSIE) at custodian appointed by the Customs Department. The AAI has, however, offered to develop and operate its proposed international cargo facility on the available piece of land near the new International Terminal Building in Joint Venture with KSIE.
The AAI is currently constructing a new International Terminal Building at the Trivandrum Airport.
