P. Terry’s San Antonio expansion is heading inside Loop 410, across the street from Brackenridge Park.

The new restaurant will be located at 3302 Broadway Ave. and will be the Austin-based burger chain’s first location inside Loop 410. It is also the fifth establishment in San Antonio.

P. Terry’s filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation says construction will begin at the 2,785-square-foot store in January. The burger joint, located where the former King’s Palace Chinese Restaurant used to be, will feature a dining room and a double-lane drive-thru.

Records show construction on the restaurant is expected to wrap up by September 2023.

The first P. Terry’s in San Antonio opened in the Medical Center last summer. Two other finished locations are on the far West Side and North Side along Loop 1604.

P. Terry's is known for its signature Googie aesthetic, a Southern California style influenced by the 1950s and 1960s Space Age.

Along with the Broadway location, P. Terry’s told MySA that the chain is cooking up additional restaurants in San Antonio at 22607 North U.S. 281 and near Blanco Road and Loop 1604.

P. Terry’s growth into San Antonio was a “natural choice” for the company, CEO Todd Coerver told MySA last year. Coerver was a San Antonio resident for eight years before joining P. Terry’s.
