Considering that the Bears just spent the past year trying to get the state to freeze their current property taxes in perpetuity at the rates of a dead and forgotten race track that was getting a tax break to help it stay in operation, they shouldn’t be complaining.
Its Interstate land right down the road from O’Hare, it’s worth the higher tax bill. Arlington school districts even compromised with the Bears for 9.7 million instead of 16 million.
If they don’t have the money, they should sell the team instead of begging for handouts.
