wow quite a change from the understated version of 45 Broad St. that I liked . .
(as seen in Hunser's Feb 12th post) . .
this version of the building looks awkwardly convoluted to fit the small lot . .
as well as vertically divided into ill-proportioned segments . .
with an overly theatrical . . ridiculously literal kid's concept . .
of an elaborate royal crown for a square-headed fairytale king . .
"architectural" doesn't seem to be one of the appropriate adjectives . .
befitting this crowning gesture.

but what do I know from this render . . which is blurry overall . .
and surrounding buildings . . like 40 Wall -l 60 Wall - 20 Exchange Place . .
are depicted as weirdly wide . . so maybe . . who knows . .

something akin to shop's downtown Brooklyn tower . .
would have been so perfect here . . But hey . . Great for Brooklyn . .
It really needs 340 Flatbush Ave . .
But a high crown for the Center of the downtown Manhattan skyline . .
so close to the excellence of 70 Pine . .
it requires serious finesse - nuance - savoir-faire . .
not brash oligarchical vulgarity . .
just a first impression here . .
