About the time my parents bought their new home on Elmhurst Drive less than 1/4 mile west of that Parker Lane address In 1959, their builder (Van Spinks) was attempting to purchase a parcel of unimproved scrubby pasture land at that intersection with Riverside. He backed away from negotiations because the owner wouldn’t come down from his $700/acre asking price.
