First Look at the South Street Seaport's 60-Story Condo Tower

Rumors of a helix-shaped glass tower slated for a site just south of the Brooklyn Bridge have been swirling around for years now, but developer Fortis Property Group has been reserved in divulging too much about the project. All of that changes today, with the launch of One Seaport's teaser site and an extra blast of information from project broker Fredrik Eklund. Formerly known as 151 Maiden Lane, the Goldstein, Hill and West-designed tower will rise 60 stories and come in at just under 700 feet—at 670, to be exact. Sure, it'll be tall for the Seaport, but it's among a new class of sky-grazing residential towers along the East River and counts as its companion Extell's One Manhattan Square, now rising just north of the Manhattan Bridge.

One Seaport's 80 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments will be designed by S. Russell Groves, an AD100 architect whose other NYC projects include 50 West and 1212 Fifth Avenue. Most apartments in the building will have terraces, and no less than two exposures. Although Eklund was reticent to divulge too many specifics, he did note that low-floor one-bedrooms will start at just over $1 million and apartments will reach up to around $20 million, presumably for the building's collection of penthouses.

As is expected with pricey new development, the building won't be short on amenities. Its 27th floor will be a dedicated Water Club (rendered in part above). Residents will also have access to an attended private motor court and a 24-hour concierge. Sales in the building will launch in early fall.
