The Depot Hotel & Residences:
Front Street Capital has started the process to acquire the site for this proposed
16-storey luxury hotel and residences development, in downtown's IQ District (downtown innovation district). It will be a
90-key luxury Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel, with meeting space, called The Depot. It is expected to open in March or April 2025, though I think early 2026 is more likely. It seems to have everything in place, from a hotel flag to a hotel operator to a finished design. It should start permitting and construction shortly after the site is acquired.

It's across Fourth Street from Bailey Park and will have underground parking (below the building). The developers want this to be a five-star hotel, to serve the city's growing life sciences (Winston-Salem is the world's leading center for Regenerative Medicine) in downtown. It's expected to have a nice restaurant and bar. Notice the people watching area (facing the park) on the steps, colonnade with a view of the park, multiple outdoor spaces and a green roof.
