I think if there was even the slimmest of hope for it to be revived it would still have to be with some major conjoining tourist attraction be that a stadium, concert venue, museum, or programmed park of some sort.

When the Chicago Fire moved back to Soldier Field it was announced as a temporary move until a new soccer specific stadium could be built somewhere in the city. Obviously a lot is up in the air with Soldier Field right now w/ the Bears but depending how that saga ends and whether the Fire can come to terms with the city on a longer-term agreement, this site is one of the few central locations that could support such a thing and could anchor an entertainment district in lieu of the casino. Mansueto certainly has the money to do it.
