Looks like Coney Island is seriously being considered this time. It's come around before, but the chances are higher now that the state intends to legalize full blown casinos. I was against it here, but I'd rather have a casino here and not in Manhattan. And it would also help jumpstart the redevelopment.

The state Assembly leader is now looking at three potential sites to approve the city’s first full-service gambling casino — at Aqueduct where the racino already exists, at the Iron Triangle of Willets Point near Citi Field, and on Coney Island.

“After seeing that racino at Aqueduct make a half-a-bil in six months, the state knows it’s time for a real casino to raise some tax money,” the Bookie said. “No better place than right here. If that Hasbro toy casino can rake in that kinda cash from machines without hot broads in low-cut dresses blowing lady luck on cold dice at a craps table, without oil sheiks betting their harems at baccarat, without your fast-talking blackjack dealer telling you his life story as he takes you for your lungs, you can’t imagine how much coin they’ll make when the high rollers show up with hot broads at a real casino here in Coney Island. Fuhgeddaboudit.”
