Midtown, and Midtown
proper are two different things. Everyone knows midtown is between 14th-59th streets. Midtown
proper is more defined, and has more to do with where the office towers are concentrated. Even the ESB isn’t really considered a part of that. But technically speaking, even the Javits is in Midtown.
