I've never understood this either. It's like they take absolutely no consideration into site planning and throw up whatever suits their needs whenever and wherever. A lot of suburban hospitals are like that too, and the ones that aren't I suspect are just too new to have had many additions yet. It seems like hospitals would want easy navigation of their campuses to be a priority, but apparently not.
