That's the exact argument they are making for considering such actions - these once in a lifetime storms aren't happening at a once in a lifetime pace. As Governor Cuomo and others have said, we've had two "hundred year storms" in the last two years. The City of New York has had to issue evacuations now for two consecutive years - something the City doesn't do. We could very well see a "Sandy" next year, or the year after that. The time to start
thinking about solutions is past time, but most definitely not
in the future. No need to wait for a few more ravishing storms to get the wheels in motion.
