WASHINGTON — "President Obama will visit the Tappan Zee Bridge on Wednesday to deliver a speech calling for more federal spending on bridges and other infrastructure projects, a White House official said Saturday.
Obama will tout his administration’s approval of a record $1.6 billion federal loan to help finance a replacement for the Tappan Zee, and he will call on Republicans to end their opposition to his proposals for more infrastructure spending.
The President will also highlight efforts by the administration to cut through red tape and modernize the federal infrastructure permitting process, and reduce project approval time lines,” the White House official said."
