Developer pitching 34-story Gold Coast condo tower

The site on Maple Street is next to the Maple & Ash steakhouse, whose now-battling partners proposed to build there in 2019. The latest proposal is by an unrelated developer.

A developer is pitching a 34-story condo tower for a site on Maple Street in the Gold Coast where a separate team’s 22-story proposal fizzled.

The slender building, next to the Maple & Ash steakhouse, would include 54 condominiums and 81 parking spaces. Renderings show the building clad in textured limestone, with large apertures that house windows in some places, outdoor terraces in others.

The proposed prices of the condos are not yet known. They would range in size from 1,330 square feet to 6,070 square feet in a two-level penthouse, according to the proposal.

n January 2019, a separate development team proposed a 22-story building for the site. There would have been only a dozen units, almost all of them 3,500 square feet, with an 8,000-square-foot penthouse. That proposal included street-level space for a restaurant.

Ther 22-story proposal was a project of David Pisor and Jim Lasky, co-owners of Maple & Ash, next door to the site. The two men are now embroiled in a legal battle.
