Police shut down a block of the Midtown street known as "Billionaire's Row" after bricks fell from the roof of a tower under construction, an FDNY spokesman said.

The debris fell from 111 W. 57th St., a planned 1,428-foot-tall tower located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, shortly before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, fire officials said. The FDNY spokesman could not confirm if the falling debris struck any objects on street level, but did say that there were no known injuries.

New York City Emergency Management sent out a notice warning people to stay away from West 57th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues on Thursday due to the street closure.

The city Department of Buildings sent inspectors to the West 57th Street construction site to conduct an investigation, a DOB spokesperson said.
