Activity At The Brickell Site Where 1,049-Foot Supertall Towers By Norman Foster Planned

There’s some activity at the bayfront Brickell site where two supertall towers designed by architect Norman Foster are planned.

Photos taken last week show that digging is taking place in the rear of the property.

City records show that there is no pending or active construction permit for the property.

Until now, the valuable waterfront property has been used for surface parking.

Tibor Hollo’s Florida East Coast Realty and McCourt Global are planning a mixed-use project with residential, retail, and possibly hotel use.

Two options include building all residential with 660 units, or reducing it to 550 residential units and including 220 hotel rooms.

There would also be 34,731 square feet of commercial space, and 1,162 parking spaces, including an underground garage.

The Towers by Foster and Partners will include two supertall towers rising 81 and 79 stories.

In November 2020, the developer filed plans with the FAA stating that construction is expected to begin in November 2021.

The top off height of the taller tower will be 1,044 feet above ground, or 1,049 feet above sea level – hundreds of feet taller than any other building ever built in Miami.
