I always find about tokyo that there are not really a great deal of stand out architecture or features but the city as a whole is just mind blowing. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. There are a handful of global alpha cities. Hong kong is more spectacular, Paris more beautiful, NY more cinematically iconic, Chicago in ways more masculinely impressive, in many ways london is more eclectic but for sheer vast immensity Tokyo is unrivalled.

These are personal aesthetic opinions.
