For some Chinese users, we generally get information through CTBUH, Gaoloumi.cc, Soufun.com, Anjuke, or Official websites. Google Earth doesn't seem to work in Mainland China.

I often use Baidu or Gaoloumi.cc to get building height information. But there is really no information for some of buildings, so I will use aerial videos to compare it with a nearby building that already knows its height for estimating its height.
