I agree that SD development isn't dead, but looking at other cities around North America, I can see how it feels that way. Austin and Miami are booming, and Seattle has built a lot in the last decade.
I saw on
reddit the other day all the proposals popping up in Kelowna, British Columbia (a small city in the middle of nowhere), and their list of projects looks comparable to downtown San Diego's.
