Somewhat (okay very) adjacent question, but it's in the vicinity, so here goes:
Are they ever going to re-route Red River / Robert Dedman to where Medical Arts becomes the main thoroughfare and what was Red River going in front of the LBJ Library comes something else? I feel bad for folks who aren't from here, haha. |

New Red River path would literally be at the front curb of the old Red River Cafe and this corner with the new UT Law village at Keeton If it ever happens, I hope they just decide on one name from the northern terminus (at Clarkson Ave near 51st and Airport Blvd.) to Davis St in the Rainey district on the southern terminus. And then decomission/repurpose the old alignment of Red River St. |

It will definitely adversely impact that DKR and skyline backdrop view on SB Red River St from 37th St to 32nd St

Dorms have certainly stepped it up a notch since I was in college.

This is not a big job by Austin standards but looking forward to this as the lack of new construction continues.

Excellent. We now have two decent residential towers rising on both ends of downtownish - this and One Lady Bird.
@Urbannizer Where did you get the 154' height? I came up with 151' from the limited info site plan due to this being a state project. |

The 151' is roof height, and there is some additional mechanical height. I haven't seen the FAA filing yet, but that's our best hope for getting an accurrate height.

This will be the tallest building in the immediate area, but I'm not sure how prominent it will be. The LBJ library building stands out, but I can't find a source for the exact height (wiki says 10 stories). It's also on higher ground, so may continue to loom over the area.
There's also the PMA building nearby at Speedway and Dean Keeton, which is 19 stories. |
