I actually like seeing a something like this, a highway on the edge of a town in some place I've never been close to and some state I've never been to. I get to see which chains are popular in that part of the country (we have Wendy's, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, Arby's, and a couple Checkers; we do not have Krystal or Zaxby's). I also get to see gas station brands, like Blue Sky (I've never even heard of them). I also get to see things like local restaurants like that Huddle House.

I take your pictures to be evidence that every place has a history and a story to tell. Most people on here would scoff at pictures of a highway strip. But I see 50- or 60-year old buildings or strip malls looking to keep afloat after rapid suburbanization after World War II, and optimism that this town in Mississippi could be a lot bigger, and then the market re-calibrated and some of the buildings were not needed. You get a sense of the local economy even with pictures of seemingly boring, bland, everywhere buildings and businesses.

You have got to do something about getting the dashboard, rearview mirrors, and windshield markings out of your pictures. Zoom in before you take the picture, or crop them before uploading them onto a website.

I could name so many great cities in all 3 states I’m blessed to been in a few wanna visit more in Arkansas near Ozarks. When you visit don’t forget to get a souvenir to place on refrigerator

Never been to Mississippi, or seen much of the south other than Atlanta and Shreveport/Ringold Louisiana. I doubt at my age I would ever visit this part of the country because I have no justifiable reason to. Now with all that said I do appreciate seeing photos and enjoyed the thread, thank you for sharing.

Mississippi? If not for the lack of sidewalks, I could have mistaken it for Mississauga. It looks almost exactly the same.

I disagree with the other poster who suggested zooming in and cropping out the dashboard. The photos as is capture the feeling of driving through this place. And it is obviously the kind of place you drive through, not walk through.

The only real problem with these photos is at 2016x1012px, they are too big to fit on the screen. Resize them to something like 1200x900px to make them easier to view. When you upload, some website such as Flickr might resize it automatically for you and give you the option to link to the resized version instead of the full size version.
