TORONTO | 8 Elm St. | 715 FT | 69 FLOORS
This one has seen one or two revisions over the years.
Info and renders courtesy of UT. 8 Elm: a proposed 68-storey mixed-use condominium building designed by IBI Group for Pemberton Group and The Muzzo Group on the northwest corner of Elm Street and Yonge Street, in the Bay Street Corridor neighbourhood. https://cdn.skyrisecities.com/sites/default/files/images/projects/21843/21843-137640.jpeg https://cdn.skyrisecities.com/sites/default/files/images/projects/21843/21843-137641.jpeg |
TORONTO l 8 Elm | 218.2m | 68s | Reserve Properties | IBI Group
Some stunning new renderings of 8 Elm. Interestingly, this one now has a celebrity spin with Simu Liu (Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and years on the Canuck sitcom Kim’s Convenience”) joining the project (design consultant I think).
“Nobu” has Robert De Niro as co-owner and Reserve Properties got Pharrell Williams involved with the design of “Untitled Toronto”… but 8 Elm has a superhero. https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachments/8elmyongedunnw1280-jpg.420688/ UT https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachments/8elmwormsnw1280-jpg.420687/ UT https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachments/8elmpodnw1280-jpg.420686/ UT https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachments/8elmbalconysw1280-jpg.420685/ UT https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachments/8elmaersweve1280-jpg.420684/ UT https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/attachments/8elmaerse1280-jpg.420683/ UT |

I took these two yesterday, just a quick image. They demolished the buildigns on site, retaining one facade on Elm, and are starting to either remediate or excavate. I assume the latter.

69 floors is a lot of floors for a 715-foot high building.

This could become one of my favourites. Only thing I don't like is how it will block the view of Aura looking north from Yonge. Although that's mostly an issue at night since daytime Aura isn't that attractive due to the balcony section.

Off-topic, but man do I want to see the Chelsea Green towers get underway!
