The ALR was created to prevent wasteful sprawl. Paving for parking lots is cheap and fast after all.

Now, the ALR is a barrier to efficient and resilient patterns of land use.

Just because Toigo is getting a big new bridge and casino from Christy Clark, doesn't mean rolling back the ALR in the lower mainland is a bad idea. Especially at a time when land prices are suffocating vital activity like living or business. Too bad there isn't a politician in Victoria who can discuss both sides of the matter.
