If he doesn't appeal, he should resign.

Even if he does appeal, he should resign. This is the only news story involving London- besides Kellogg's closing, maybe- that's made national news in the last year. He's bad for the city, even being charged with this should have caused him to step aside. |
I do not know Fontana personally. But I don't see a need for him to resign unless he goes to jail and is legally required to resign. He did not commit this crime as mayor, he committed it as an MP previously - and it was really not a whole lot of money. We're not talking about $50,000 or even $10,000. And I still think he has been a better mayor than Anne-Marie DeCicco-Best ever was, and I'd much rather have him as mayor than Rob Ford. I voted for him and if I still lived in London, I'd vote for him again.
London City Council's problems are because of councilors like Dale Henderson who fight against ideas like food trucks and improved public transit. |
Someone please explain to me why food trucks is such an important issue?
Joe should resign to retrieve a shred of dignity. He is a crook. He lied to the public. Crooks should not run major cities. Rob Ford set the bar so low, it would be impossible for a molecule to do the limbo beneath it. |

Remember backyard chickens? :P |

Anyways Joe is resigning officially as of now |
Food trucks and backyard chickens are unfortunately issues everywhere. These kinds of issues are tedious wastes of time, but nearly everyone does have an opinion about them. If an issue seems completely trivial, maybe it’s best to leave it as status quo- but, then, not everyone is happy with that.
It doesn’t matter how much old Joe defrauded the public by in this one instance that he was caught and successfully prosecuted. He is a crook, and so should not be mayor. That seems pretty straightforward. Glad to hear that he’s not going to making Londoners kick him out. |

And now for Mayor Matt Brown. |

I think van Meerbergen would stand a very good shot if he went for it. He’s had three terms now, as opposed to Brown.
This isn’t me saying he’s sufficiently competent, but that hasn’t stopped London in the past. |
Well, he's gone.
Couldn't even stomach a press conference. Time to move on. |
It's about time. Good riddance!
