As we detailed in full last month, a narrow residential tower will climb 41 floors into the sky, but the base will be brick-exterior and broad enough to fill out the entire footprint and match the height of its neighboring mid-rise office building, whose rooftop will be used for resident amenities and connected to via a skywalk over the alley. The Plan Commission's okay gives the tower the go-ahead to begin construction on time in early 2015.

I don't agree with starting all these new threads for Chicago projects that aren't particularly noteworthy.

No offense to the threadstarter or anything...

Its all good. I didn't know the rules for Chicago per say. I figured since Calgary and other cities like Houston have threads for projects much smaller (some lower than 20 floors), that it would be fair game. I'll be sure in the future to abide by the 500ft rule for Chicago. :) Although typically I try to post projects noticeable, even for Miami or NYC.

I was just going by the "For all proposed highrise buildings (minimum 12 floors or 35 meters / 115 feet in height)" rule. :haha:

But as I've learned, Chicago is different on SSP vs SSC or even YIMBY (New Chicago section btw) ;)

Forgot we had a dedicated thread to it. It's a floor or two off the ground now as is the one across the street from it.

Rebar is also now sprouting out the top of the neighboring building to support the roof deck.

This is a nice filler IMO. Hope many more like it rise. Its time for Chicago to boom like crazy.

Or see the most recent photo in this thread which shows three separate tower cranes in it and you can't even see the project that is literally right across the street in it.
