Quite nice. It rains so infrequently in SF that it's probably not a necessity to have the rain protection, but the added architectural interest of the canopy was money very well spent.

? Some winters it rains 3 days a week from November to April.

But I agree with everyone the canopy is for wind. The Market/Van Ness area is especailly windy as anyone walking past 100 Van Ness will tell you.

I don't recall seeing a photo here of the other side of the city office portion of the building--what's officially known as "49 South Van Ness" I think:

guess I'll throw this one in here too - S Van Ness looks like it is getting new street fixtures to match Van Ness

8/18-2020 - The former Coca Cola bottling is a nice fit in this block long development. The old on one corner & the new on the other. I remember seeing the bottles on the conveyor belt moving to be bottled.

nice to see it with some sun on it! I always seem to get there late enough in the day that is almost completely shadowed

this is the 'other' end of the passageway, that empties onto Mission (hang a left at the far end to get out to S Van Ness)
