I haven't tried the one on Park street yet but hope to soon.

Have had it twice since it switched over. Pretty much the exact same as the former Houston Pizza.

Let's hope the fate of this Mexican restaurant isn't the same as every other one that tried and failed in Regina.

Good to know it's close to home. Will definitely try it out!

So a good friend of mine who works in the industry told me the south Brewsters is going to be turned into a Hudson's Tap House. Has anyone else heard similar rumblings?

Hudson's has been looking to enter Regina for like 5 years. If that turned out to be the first location I'd just have to laugh.

Why's that?

Hudsons Saskatoon is in the heart of downtown. They have a very urban patio.

South Albert isn't exactly a luxury location.

Gotcha - they tend for downtown (e.g.: Stoon), active bar/pub strips (Whyte Ave & WEM), or big box developments (Crowfoot). I agree - S. Albert is none of these ;)

Glad to see. Michi was a downtown staple and it's good to see retail return to Scarth

Anyone know what's going into Green Spot's most recent location? Crews have been working on it for the past couple of weeks - no 'coming soon' signage, though.

Brewsters

Manager at Brewsters north today said that all three locations are closing. The south one will be the first one to close. Sounds like they will all close over the next couple of months.

Wow! They're always busy anytime I've gone. Not one i'd expect to just disappear like that. Is the head office in trouble?

Lots of new competition. How may pubs have opened in the last few years. Probably 15 if you count chains.

And when you consider that even Brown's has run out of money...

So Brewster's in Regina is not connected to the Alberta chain?

In fact, they started here and expanded to Alberta. I'm not sure, however, if they still have the same ownership.

They seem to be separate companies now with different websites and logos.

This is correct. The Brewster's in Calgary specifically wanted to go another direction than the ones in Regina. They are indeed two separate entities with no connection other than name now. I learned this during an interview with one of the partners in Calgary.

So what I heard about Hudsons Tap House replacing the south Brewsters could very well be true. Still a little sad that they all are closing. My friends and I used to go there religiously on Mondays for wing and schooner night. Could get an order of both for $10 if I can remember. Boy has that changed since.
