The triangle formed by Queens Plaza N/S to the North, the LIRR tracks to the East, and the 7 elevated tracks along 23rd St is a construction zone right now.
I think I am missing a couple, too, including a condo building under construction along Pearson and an adjacent 20-floor rental building next to it. The lot across the street from this warehouse, 42-50 24th St, was cleared of the cab stand and had plans for a ~450 ft tower. It's pretty incredible the amount of residential units planned for just this small area. That doesn't even include a few towers under construction or fenced off just outside of the triangle. Altogether, that's probably close to 4,000 units coming to the market in the next 5-6 years. This doesn't even include the waterfront developments near Gantry State Park. Quite the little mini-Manhattan under development. |
Yeah, the next few years in LIC might get busier than its ever been, and that’s saying a lot.
