Here is a little of what info there is on mostly the Aprato family:

1910 Census
Luis Aprato, born in Italy in 1889, in 1910 census lived at 743 New High Street, (by himself). He worked in a foundry.
1920 Census
Jo Aprato (Guiseppi) born in Italy on February 11, 1888. In the 1920 Census he is living at 1152 Yale Street, Los Angeles. Came to the US in 1910. Married to Domeca Aprato. His native language was Spanish. He was a cord maker in an iron works (probably the same person as above. He and his wife had a son, Jo Jr. born in 1915.
Louis Aprato, born in Italy in on November 27, 1889. He came to the US in 1896. He is married to Maria Aprato. They have two sons Jo, 7 and Pete 6. In 1920 they live at 1088 Yale Street and he owns the house there. He works as a moulder in a machine shop. Records show that Luigi Aparato married Maria Maddelena Giacolletto in Los Angeles on November 11, 1911. (she became a naturalized citizen in 1940.
1930 Census
Louis Aprato, born in Italy in 1890. His records in the 1930 Census says he came to the US in 1905. He was a naturalized citizen. He is married to Mary Aprato, born in Italy in 1892. This is the same couple as above and they now have one more son, Louis, born in California in 1922. The 1930 Census shows that they live at 3336 Granada Street, Los Angeles. At that time, he is listed as being a carpenter and working in a carpenter shop.
Joe Aprato, born in Italy in 1889, lives in 1930 with his wife Domminicka, and son Joe, now 15, at 1745 37th Street in a rented house. Joe is now the owner of a grocery store. He is also a naturalized citizen
Draft Registrations
Both Joe and Louis registered for the draft for WWI. Joe noted that he had previously served two years in the Italian Army, where he had been a corporal. At the time that he registered for the draft, he was working at the Fulton Engine Works on Main and Alhambra Streets.
Louis, at the time that he registered for the draft was working as a chauffeur at the Keystone Iron Works in Los Angeles. He was married with two children at the time. He has no previous military service.

The family came from Bosconero, Italy as is listed by Joe's WW II draft registration. This is in the northwestern part of Italy, about 16 miles north of Turin.

I have not been able to determine if Joe and Louis were brothers or cousins.

Chicken Jerusalem is a dish of chicken with artichoke hearts in a cream sauce.

Boula Boula is a version of Turtle Soup

Duckling Montmorency is a roast duckling with cherries, oranges and sherry, among other things

Ten-fifteen years ago I saw a 4k restoration of The Adventures of Robin Hood at the Arclight in Hollywood where relatives of Errol Flynn were in attendance, including a young grandson who was the spitting image of Flynn and with a personality that seemed sufficient to have him been in all kinds of trouble by now, just like his relative of yore.

I don't know all of his relatives or if one of these guys is who I'm remembering, but here's two of Errol Flynn's grandsons, Sean and Luke.

HossC identified the store: "The 1956 CD lists Geller's Men's and Women's Wear at 706 N Bronson. That may be the name on the brown awning."

E_R queried: "But I wonder what the restaurant is on that corner?"

I tried using the 1956 CD to identify the restaurant, but didn't have any luck. There were no other businesses located on the N. Bronson address on that side of the street that answered that question. I thought the address might be a Melrose address since it's on the corner. I found some possible eateries with Melrose addresses but they didn't seem to fit the writing on the signs in the photo. (Restaurant can be made out, of course.)

KMEX, Channel 34, was there at 721 N. Bronson as of 1962. An ARCO station is on the corner at this point. The restaurant signage on the right is still the same, too.

I don't show the following photo has been on NLA before. A couple sources say that it is from 1960, but many more date it as 1970. Without searching, anyone want to venture a guess as to who is pictured in the photograph?

Does anyone have an opinion about exactly where e_r's photo was taken? We're on land cleared for the Harbor, looking NE. I'd be interested to know the
location of the foreground buildings on the right. I'm guessing Byram and W 11th (now LA Live Way & Chick Hearn Ct), but I'm not sure.
The freeway was completed south to Olympic by March, 1954. Cold War LA, while not giving a location, dates this image to June 5, 1952:

A current shot of the M-G-M Commissary shows us that it's now the "Rita Hayworth Dining Hall."

After a few film roles, Sean Flynn eventually became a photojournalist and began covering the Vietnam War in 1966.

"On April 6, 1970, while traveling in Cambodia, Flynn and Dana Stone (on assignment for Time magazine and CBS News) were captured by Communist guerrillas at a roadblock on Highway One. They were never heard from again and their remains have never been found. Although it is known that they were captured by Vietnamese Communists, it has been suggested that they died in the hands of “hostile” forces. The logical and accepted story was that he was killed by the Cambodian Khmer Rouge about a year after his capture."

Lili Damita spent all her time and money searching for her son, finally giving up in 1984, having him legally declared dead.
In 2010 a mass grave was found near where Sean went missing. Seans’ body was not among them. :(

The distant crossing street in the '50s pix is Marathon (I was born on it a few blocks east, beyond Vermont) and the restaurant is Oblaths. You can see the blade sign in the picture below. Pretty much the unofficial Paramount commissary from the 40s through the 60's which is when I worked at the studio. I think it went away in the 70's. Pretty decent Mexican food for an anglo operation

Here's Army Archerd reminiscing about the Paramount gate and things around it:

I can well remember going through the historic Paramount gates off Marathon Street for the first time to start working in that pair of small rooms where we’d sort mail to then deliver to the stars who had their permanent dressing rooms on the lot. Often, there were hundreds of extras waiting outside the gate for a possible call to work that day. A casting window handled the calls as well as the jobs for day players. You could often see male stars in the studio’s barber shop or at the bootblack’s stand … The men’s wardrobe department was alongside the mailroom, and it seemed like entire armies could have been uniformed there. And above, the famed women’s wardrobe department, headed by the incomparable Edith Head. Across the street, on the south side of Marathon, was the famed Oblath’s restaurant where those who took a break from the commissary could be waited upon by ladies who looked like they stepped out of a sitcom — only there weren’t any sitcoms then

"Lucy Park" reminds me that when I was recently watching a Lucy Show rerun, she told someone her house address was 980 Gower Street. Might that have actually been the address where the old I Love Lucy show was taped? I could research it, but I'll bet someone here knows.

One of my college writing teachers was in Saigon for a number of months for "Playboy." All the writers and reporters and photojournalists hung out together at the Continental Palace on Tu Do Street. He knew Sean Flynn and said he was the bravest man he had ever known. In the end, sadly, that got him killed.
